The client came to Decor Aid early on in her home-buying process, anxious for a designer eye to help fill the newly renovated space. Her must-haves were simple: A sectional sofa for lounging, an upholstered bed with storage, and a small dining space. She brought with her a select handful of family heirlooms and some collected artwork to contribute to the final design.
Aesthetically, Decor Aid worked with the client to develop a vibe that would reflect a young execs New Yorker’s apartment, but with some tasteful upgrades. The result, a modern but eclectic space with some unexpected edge. Pieces were collected over time, juxtaposing vintage chinoiserie tables with brass table lamps and cowhide throw pillows.
In the kitchen and dining area, a round table allows for flow throughout the space, just enough to seat four comfortably in fully upholstered dining chairs. In the living area, the space was anchored with a extra large sectional sofa, grounded with a graphic, high-contrast area rug, and rounded out with a functional brass coffee table. In the bedroom, the upholstered bed’s storage allows for more space for a vanity and occasional chair. Throughout are select pillows and decor in shades of blue, blush, and gray to create a cohesive look.
